Text on Panorama:
This twilight panorama, taken by Christopher Gjevre, features Kansas City’s Country Club Plaza, often referred to as The Plaza. This 55-acre site was the first shopping center in the world designed to accommodate shoppers arriving by automobile. Designed in 1922, it is an outdoor museum featuring Spanish architecture and European art. Thanksgiving evening, thousands of visitors officially welcome the holiday season at the annual lighting of this upscale shopping district. Tens of thousands of multi-colored lights, spanning dozens of miles, outline the buildings and creates a magical wonderland that continues through mid-January.
