Text on Panorama:
This panorama, taken by James Simmons, features a twilight view of downtown Kansas City, the most populous city in Missouri. On the left, with its four tall art deco inspired pylons, is Bartle Hall Convention Center and, in the foreground, is The Kaufman Center of the Performing Arts, with its unique shaped roof. Moving to the right, is the tallest building in Kansas City, the 42-story One Kansas City Place. Continuing right is Sprint Center and, to the far right, is the Western Auto sign, reminiscent of the company started in 1909. Downtown Kansas City was selected as one of America’s best downtowns for its music, art, entertainment and cuisine – most notably barbecue.
