This panorama of Tiger Walk honors one of the cherished traditions of University of Missouri graduates. It was taken August 24, 2014, during the university’s 175th anniversary. Freshmen run through the Columns toward Jesse Hall during Tiger Walk to symbolize their entrance into the university and the start of a new academic year. MU faculty, staff and alumni volunteers greet them with Tiger Stripe ice cream, and Marching Mizzou performs a concert. The words of the university’s alma mater capture the spirit: “Proud art thou in classic beauty, of thy noble past; with thy watchwords, honor, duty, thy high fame shall last.”
