This aerial panoramic photograph of downtown San Francisco was taken by James Blakeway. The bright orange bridge at the far left is the Golden Gate Bridge. It spans the strait connecting San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean, and connects San Francisco to Sausalito. Located in San Francisco Bay, beyond downtown, is Alcatraz Island, which was once a federal prison and housed such famous prisoners as Al Capone. Centered in the downtown area is the widely recognized, pyramid-shaped Transamerica Building. At the lower right is Pacific Bell Park, home to the San Francisco Giants baseball team. Also to the right is the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge, which connects San Francisco to Oakland.
