Battery Park is visible on the southern tip of Manhattan in an area known as the financial district; this area includes Wall Street and many major U.S. stock exchanges and financial institutions. The two bridges crossing the East River are the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges . Ellis Island is behind and slightly left of the Statue of Liberty.
