This panoramic photograph of Vancouver was taken by Christopher Gjevre. It shows Vancouver as seen looking across False Creek, an ocean inlet off English Bay that looks deceivingly like a river. Vancouver is North America’s third most densely populated city, partly due to the popularity of high-rise apartments offering spectacular views of the surrounding water and mountains. Vancouver’s tallest building, with its brightly lit top, is One Wall Centre. The domed stadium on the right is BC Place Stadium, home to the BC Lions football team. Vancouver, host of the 2010 Winter Olympics, has been ranked one of the best cities to live in the world in a Quality of Life survey.
