Text on Panorama:
This panorama, taken by James Simmons, captures the Notre Dame Fightin’ Irish® men’s basketball team playing their first game as a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). Notre Dame’s debut in the ACC resulted in an impressive win over No. 7 ranked Duke, for a final score of 79-77. This was the fifth-straight time the Irish beat a Top 10 team at home and the first loss in an ACC opener for the Blue Devils in seven seasons. Purcell Pavilion, with its intimate environment, was the perfect backdrop for this historic game and has provided a home court advantage to men's and women's basketball and volleyball teams since its dedication in October 2009.
