Text on Panorama:
This panorama, taken by James Blakeway, spotlights the beautiful downtown Portland, Oregon, skyline at twilight. Located left of center is the Oregon Convention Center, best known for the twin spire towers which provide light into the building’s interior and for housing the world’s largest Foucault Pendulum. The large flat-roofed building, right of center in the mid-distance, is the Rose Garden, a $267 million multi-purpose arena and home of the NBA Portland Trail Blazers. Located near the confluence of the Willamette (shown meandering through the center of the picture) and Columbia rivers, Portland’s economy has historically been tied to these rivers and their access to the Pacific Ocean.
