Text on Panorama:
This panoramic photograph of London was taken by James Blakeway. Featured along the River Thames are the House of Parliament, Westminster Bridge, and the clock commonly referred to as Big Ben. Big Ben is actually a 15-ton bell that tolls the hours. In the distance just right of center is Buckingham Palace, the official London residence of Britain's sovereigns since 1837. On the far right is the world’s largest Ferris wheel, the London Eye. It was created to celebrate the millennium and opened in January 2000. The ride takes 30 minutes and rises 450 feet above the River Thames in a fully enclosed capsule.
