This panoramic photograph was taken by James Blakeway and features a late day view of downtown Dallas. Featured on the left is Texas Commerce Tower with a tunnel through the top. Moving right is Trammel Crow Center has the pyramid shaped and Fountain Place with its triangular shaped roof. Further right is Nations Bank Plaza, and at 72 floors, is the tallest in Dallas. To the far right is Reunion Tower which houses a hotel and revolving restaurant. Dallas began as a trading post in 1841 and has become one of the Southwest's largest business and cultural centers. The 1930 discovery of oil southwest of the city brougt much of the growth and prosperity to the area.
