This panorama, taken by James Simmons, captures the electric environment at a sold out Charles Koch Arena, as the Wichita State Shockers complete a perfect 31-0 season, for the first time in collegiate basketball history. The Shockers finished their stunning season with a 68-45 win over the Missouri State Bears on March 1, 2014. With their “Play Angry” motto perfectly describing the Shockers’ style, the team redefined dominance and won the Missouri Valley Conference regular season title by six games. Wichita State is emblematic of the gutsy, blue-collar city in Kansas it represents.
