This panoramic photograph of Edinburgh was taken by James Blakeway. It features a view of Edinburgh looking up Princes Street with Edinburgh Castle in the distance overlooking the city. Perched on a volcanic crag, Edinburgh Castle is the most famous of the Scottish Castles and is home of the Scottish Crown Jewels. The brightly lit building in front of Edinburgh Castle is the Bank of Scotland. The bright steeple slightly left of center is St. Giles' Cathedral which is located along the Royal Mile, a historic street located between Edinburgh Castle and the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the queen's official residence in Scotland.
