The armor is an exterior 1000d Cordura Nylon textured sheathing that’s highly resistant to water penetration, denting, and scratching. The armor is laminated over 3/8" Baltic Birch hardwood plywood. Our College Trunks - Under bed size weighs about 20% less than comparably sized steel trunks. They not only are just as strong as steel trunks, but are actually more durable.

Our College Trunks are armored and of a superior quality. These trunks are not only well-made USA products, but they also come with the ability to add a wide variety of features, below is a breakdown of each available upgrade.
Removable Wheels: Almost all sizes of our College Trunk series come equipped with the ability to purchase wheels. Our wheels can come off and on with ease. Each trunk is equipped with a wheel plate that allows our wheels to be purchased at any time and placed on for an easier transport. Once in your new location you can take the wheels off to save space! (Most dorm trunks come with permanent wheels.)
About: These easy to use, removable wheels can be added to any College Trunk that already has the wheel plates installed from the factory (If you do not see the Wheel option available that means the trunk size you chose is too small). The steel and rubber wheels can be added or removed from our College Trunk in a matter of seconds with a twist of the wrist. Unlike other wheel systems, our durable wheels do not add any additional height to the trunk. In fact, you don’t even need to lift up the trunk to attach them. Each kit comes with two wheels and a sachet to store them in.
Hardwood Tray: Our wooden trays lay in your college trunk to essentially provide a shelf-like space for smaller items or items you want quickly accessible. This nice add-on item can be used or not used if at any point a tray becomes not needed.
About: This natural Baltic Birch hardwood tray comes with mounting brackets for a quick and easy installation. No tools are required to install the removable tray.
Combination Lock: The front of our College Trunks come with the ability to add a padlock. If you already own a padlock it will certainly work or if you need a padlock you can add-on our padlock and turn your trunk into a safer, more secure spot. Note: Our 'College Trunks' do not come with a lock and key system, thus if you want your trunk to be able to stay locked, you will want to add a padlock. DormCo.com does offer other trunk styles equipped with lock & key if that is your preference.
Engraved Nameplate: Want to make your trunk personalized? By adding an engraved nameplate you create a nicer, more personalized product. Great add-on buy for those making our college trunk a high school graduation gift or any gift in general.
About: Measures 1" high by 3" long. Lettering can be in upper or lower case, whichever you prefer. Lettering is in black. Most people put their full name on, but its your choice. You can have your name on one or two lines with 24 characters per line. Special characters and numbers can also be used. On the back of the name plate is a self-sticking adhesive. Therefore, you can place the name plate anywhere you like on the College Trunk.
Anchor Lock System: If there is concern that your trunk will have 'legs' and disappear out of your dorm room, then you'll want to add our anchor lock system. This system essentially keeps your new dorm room trunk secured to any immovable object in your dorm. You can cable it to your dorm bed, desk or any other spot where a cable can lock around and secure. (Comes with cable, eye bolt on trunk and lock)
About: Besides eye bolt, Included in the kit is a Masterlock Python 1/4″ × 6′ cable and lock. When not using the cable, you can remove the eye bolt and plug the hole with a provided steel hole plug. This system is easy to use and will provide the extra peace of mind and security in any dorm room environment.

About Decals: We now carry these vintage style decals so you can decorate your own trunk for that old world look. They’re easy to use. Simply peel off the backing and stick them on your trunk. They come packaged in a decorative hinged tin. Each tin contains 24 assorted decals, no two alike.
